Outdoor Power Equipment Institute Canada – Fuel-Powered Outdoor Equipment Study (2020)

In partnership with Ecoinspire Planning Services, assessed the effectiveness of the market-based scrap metal recycling network for the management of fuel-powered outdoor power equipment (FPOPE). Conducted research to estimate the amount of FPOPE recycled and disposed annually, identify gaps in accessibility of collection facilities for consumers, assess the level of consumer awareness on the handling of FPOPE at end-of-life, and gain insights how metal recycling in British Columbia affects the management of FPOPE.

Recycle BC – Streetscape Recycling Roundtable Discussions (2019 to 2020)

Facilitated roundtable discussions with local government representatives on streetscape recycling in British Columbia. The objective of the discussions was to bring forth successful proof of concepts and potential consensus on executing feasible streetscape recycling models. Results are published in this report.

White Label Insights – Real Estate Data Analysis (2019 to 2020)

Compiled, queried, and analyzed real estate data in the Greater Toronto Area and British Columbia for money laundering indicators. Results are published in reports commissioned by Transparency International and the Attorney General of British Columbia. Support the Cullen Commission on data inquiries related to real estate transactions.

Closing the Loop – Zero Waste British Columbia (2020)

Provided in-kind services to plan and facilitate a day-long workshop with a diverse group of stakeholders on next steps towards zero waste and a circular economy in British Columbia. Updated a State of Play document and pivoted the workshop to be hosted online due to COVID-19. Supporting the revision of the Closing the Loop report from 2013 based on the workshop outcomes.

Food Systems LabWeb Services (2016 to present)

Providing in-kind web services for the Food Systems Lab, a research and innovation hub working on reducing food waste and supporting a sustainable food system.

Thomson Reuters – Eikon Messenger Server Team (2014 to 2015)

Member of the team responsible for the development of the server-side components of Eikon Messenger, a messaging application for stock traders. The server was developed in the Go programming language and used the XMPP and SIP protocols. Improved handing of XMPP communications and implemented extensions related to archiving and group chat.
